Why we verify identity (KYC)
Browsing is always free and needs nothing. Verification kicks in only when you take a real action — sell, hire, get paid, or accept donations.
Real people, not scammers
Verification keeps bots, fake sellers, and fraudsters out. When you deal with someone on a SOV platform, you know they're real.
Protects buyers and sellers
Marketplaces only work on trust. Verified identities mean accountability on both sides of every listing, job, rental, and donation.
Safe to move money
To let people get paid, accept donations, or transact, we have to know who's who — the same standard banks and payment providers hold.
Verified badges that mean something
A SOV verified badge is earned once and recognised across every platform in the ecosystem.
What we ask from you
- One photo ID— a TT driver's permit, national ID card, or passport. A clear photo, all four corners visible.
- A live selfie— taken on the spot from your phone or laptop, to confirm the ID belongs to you.
That's it. No utility bills, no references, nothing we don't actually need.
How we protect it
- Encrypted in transit and at rest; access is limited and audit-logged.
- Used only for verification — never sold, shared, or used for ads. Your ID and selfie are never shown publicly.
- Deletable on request once verified — we keep only a yes/no record and the date.
